Wampum Garland to Heal the Mind

Wampum Garland to Heal the Mind

The wound is deep and the gash needs a stitchin’
Look out and within to the Earth’s Medicine Kitchen
Wax cathartic my friend of the aeons   Renew the Vision

In dreams and in chance may we find the path to Sanity
When baffled by cruelty may we see hidden kind Humanity
Retaliation is mostly a temporary adjustment
Hold firm to courageous cautious workability
Love is Dear    Grief is Unbearable but fades now and then
Circumstances Heal Circumstances

May those beset find a lifeline to meaning and an antidote
Suffering, Disaster, Violence and War make scars that redefine
the humans that were before then alone
Now they walk with demons

The Healing gods know – seek dreams and means
After the Battle is when the fight begins

He drilled the beads with stone and strung them together
A still mind holds the objects in focus and time goes on
He wove a story and a song and a method
To carry the future    To reconcile the past
To commemorate that which is valuable to perpetuate
Stillness threads a needle and distraction fades into the background
Only Now and Forever
The quiet river flows unceasingly like time and breath and thoughts
Thoughts are the first to go then breath and time

My life is easy as I don’t have these big demons to accompany me –
Only little ones as all of us do.
Balance is knowing the richness of the moment
Each gesture and motion becomes a robust symphony of awareness
But let stillness of the body, of the sensations, of the mind be observed
And then maybe as the Great Perfectionist told me The Great View will Appear
The Great View is to see reality as it is
By virtue of Essence may we know Essencelessness of Self and Other
I may learn nothing at all in my fondling of the future and past
- in stalking for familiar patterns
These fun games eat time – for better or for worse.

Under the Great Pine, the Great Peace, may we lay our weapons and work together
This is truly a legacy unrivaled.
