Traveling the Curvy Roads of Time and Negotiating the Snags of the
Path
Avalon Babalon Barleycorn
Twisting tongues chase meter and memoryMany Moons have come and gone
They rise and fall like the Corn King’s ephemery
Wheels of the Day, of the Moon, of the Year
Roll always along the roads of ease and fear
Ecstasy pales under the maintenance of gory life,
a distant memory
when visits Queen Strife
Inertia is her name
Jaggers
Goals unfulfilled rot half-empty, half-full
Remembered and Forgotten in surge and lull
Silly strivings for praise and reward
How we linger and lurk and lumber towardSeek not such oh children
How we discover poison and point with our finger
Our smug smirk of blame doth lingerSeek not such oh children
How we ornament and display our talent and beauty, our name
All in the promise of empty glory, the world of fameSeek not such oh children
How we worry that they despise us, yet if we are sincere,
sober of thought, and kind
Such is nothing at all to one who would be genuineSeek not such oh children
How we fear the poverty of goods though goods distract the
quester from the path
Fear not also the abundance that is distraction and all its
empty wrathSeek not such oh children
How we strive ever much for gold and land and machine
For this is the sparkle display of illusion’s sheenSeek not such oh children
How we obsess with consummation and chasing fun
For this is trickery of the self which is no oneSeek not such oh children
How we flee toil and poorly manage pain and despair
For some is necessary but to others show care
Seek not such oh children
