Twilight's Gate

Twilight’s Gate

Echoes of the past
Fade away at last

Dreams left undreamed
Mem’ries left unmemed

Yesterdays undone
And words just leave me searching for a pun

Heroes die, Mothers cry
And sorrow is soon forgotten
Sunlight falls and moonlight calls
Then tomorrow is soon begotten

Lullabies and sunset birdsong
I’m waiting here to be with the unseen
Shadows dance in twilight treetops
The night cloak falls, I watch with senses keen

Images of sound
Mix of sky and ground

Stones left unturned
Lessons left unlearned

Bodies in the fields
And song is the power that he wields

Pharaohs fade, heroes jade
And after today tomorrow
Sunlight dies at moonlight rise
And laughter assuages sorrow

Lullabies and sunset birdsong
I’m waiting here to be with the unseen
Shadows dance in twilight treetops
The night cloak falls, I watch with senses keen
